Cookie policy

The strictly-necessary cookies RinkTracker uses, and how to control them.

About this policy

This policy explains how RinkTracker uses cookies. It is written to align with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.

We use strictly-necessary cookies only

RinkTracker uses strictly-necessary cookies only. These are authentication and session cookies set by our authentication provider, Supabase, to keep you signed in as you move around the app. Without them, you would not be able to log in or stay logged in, so they are essential to providing the service you have asked for.

Why we do not show a cookie banner for these

Under PECR, cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service that the user has requested are exempt from consent. Because the only cookies we set are essential session cookies, we do not need a consent banner to set them. We still want to be transparent, which is why this policy exists.

No advertising or third-party tracking cookies

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party tracking or cross-site profiling cookies. We do not sell your data and we do not build advertising profiles. This is especially important to us because the platform involves data about children.

How to control cookies in your browser

You can view, manage and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or clear cookies for a particular site. Please note that if you block the strictly-necessary cookies described above, you will not be able to sign in to or use RinkTracker. Your browser's help pages explain how to manage cookies for your specific browser and device.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change the cookies we use, we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page.
