The programme — Player development
No. 01The whole player, on one page.
Not a spreadsheet of scores — a development record: where each player is on an anchored ladder, what the age band expects, what the plan is, and the evidence behind every judgement.
Tick = the U14 age-band target. Levels are anchored, 0–5.
Assessments
No. 01Levels that mean the same thing in every rink.
Every skill sits on an anchored 1–5 ladder with written criteria, so an L3 from one coach is an L3 from the next. Each age band, U10 to U19, carries its own targets — and a player born in October is read against that context, not quietly written off for being the youngest in the year.
- Anchored 1–5 ladder with written criteria per level
- Age-band targets so ratings mean something for that age
- Relative-age context on every profile — birth quarter in view
Anchored criteria per level — an L3 means the same thing in every rink. The flag is the U14 target.
The 4 corners
No. 01Coach, player and parent each score independently — the differences are often the signal.
Three voices on every review.
Technical ability is one corner of a player. The 4-corner review captures the rest — and it is scored by coach, player and parent, so a quiet drop in confidence shows up even when the skating does not. Differences between the three voices are often the most useful signal a coach gets.
- Coach, player and parent each score independently
- Corner trends tracked term over term
- Review cadence managed for you — the next review is always scheduled
Plans & work
No. 01Gaps become the plan. The plan becomes the work.
An assessment is only worth what it changes. Gaps turn into goals, goals into tasks and off-ice programmes, and daily wellness check-ins show whether a player is ready to train hard or needs the light week. Players log their training and send proof — the loop closes with evidence, not memory.
- Skill-linked goals with clear targets and owners
- Tasks with photo and video proof from home
- Readiness from wellness check-ins, fitness testing and growth tracking
Reviews book themselves through the season — the loop never goes quiet.
Reports
No. 01Oliver Smith — moving up.
Skating is ahead of the U14 target; Game IQ sits just below it. Confidence reads strong across coach, player and parent. Focus for next term: reads in the defensive zone.
Reports families read to the end.
A development report pulls the term together: levels against age targets, the 4 corners, trajectory and the next focus. AI can polish the writing — never the judgement — and nothing reaches a parent until the coach approves it. Read receipts tell you it landed.
- Published to the family portal with read receipts
- AI-polished drafts, always coach-approved first
