Roles & permissions

Every member belongs to exactly one academy and only ever acts within that academy. Roles form a strict hierarchy, from most powerful to least: Admin, Head coach, Assistant coach, Staff, and Parent/Player. The hierarchy is enforced everywhere — for example, a head coach can never add an admin.

Admin

The academy owner. An Admin has full control over the entire workspace — teams, players, development data, the schedule, reports, venues and members. Admin is the only role that can add another Admin.

Head coach

A Head coach manages teams, players and assistant coaches. They run the day-to-day hockey operation and can invite coaches and staff. They cannot promote anyone to Admin.

Assistant coach

An Assistant coach records development, runs sessions and manages parent/guardian access. This is the role doing most of the hands-on player development work day to day.

Staff

Staff have read-onlyaccess. They can see the academy's teams, players and information but cannot change anything.

Parent/Player

A private, limited portal for a parent or guardian, scoped to their linked children. They see only what has been shared and can complete clearly labelled family actions. See The parent portal for the full detail.

How invites work

An Admin or Head coach invites a coach or staff member from the Academy panel by email, generating a tokenised invite link. The invitee opens the link and accepts to join. They then act only within that one academy. See Inviting your staff for step-by-step instructions.
