Acceptable use policy

Why this policy exists

RinkTracker holds information about junior players who are under 18. Most rules in this policy exist for exactly one reason: to keep that information safe and used only for the purpose families gave it — running and supporting their child's hockey.

This policy forms part of the terms of service. Words like "workspace" and "academy" have the meanings given there.

Use the platform for its purpose

• Use RinkTracker to run your club or academy and to follow your own child's development — not for any unrelated commercial, promotional or data-gathering purpose.
• Keep your account personal. Do not share logins, and do not let anyone use your access who has not been given their own role by the club.
• Respect the role you have been given. Attempting to view records your role does not permit — another child's profile, a gated medical record, another club's workspace — is a breach of this policy even if a technical fault makes it possible.

Children's information

• Information about players — assessments, reports, medical details, photos and video — may only be shared inside the platform's own sharing controls. Downloading or re-posting another child's information outside the platform is prohibited.
• Only upload photos or video you have the right to share, and respect the imagery consent recorded for every player in view. The platform enforces consent where media is displayed; you must respect it where the platform cannot see — for example, in what you choose to film.
• Safeguarding concerns about a child should follow your club's safeguarding procedure and its designated safeguarding lead — the platform's concern and audit tooling supports that process; it does not replace it.

Content standards

Do not post or upload content that:

• is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory or abusive;
• is inappropriate for an audience that includes children;
• infringes someone else's rights, including copyright and image rights; or
• contains malware or attempts to phish or mislead other users.

Protecting the service

• No attempting to probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the platform without our written permission.
• No scraping, bulk-downloading or automated harvesting of data.
• No reselling or white-labelling access without a written agreement.
• Found a security problem? Please report it responsibly to security@rinktracker.com — we take reports seriously and will not pursue good-faith research.

Enforcement

We may remove content, suspend accounts or (for serious or repeated breaches) terminate access. Where a breach involves a risk to a child, we act first and explain second, and we may notify the club's safeguarding lead and, where appropriate, the authorities.

Reporting misuse

To report a breach of this policy, email abuse@rinktracker.com. If a child is at immediate risk, contact the police first.
